Its name means **"winding waters"**, referring to the rivers, streams, and channels that meander through the valleys and shape the landscape.

One of the most iconic places in the park is Estany de Sant Maurici, located beneath the majestic Encantats—twin, sharply pointed mountains that dominate the landscape at an altitude of 1,910 meters.
