Welcome to Barcelona! Your Guide to Meeting People in 2026

Just landed in Barcelona? Welcome! Whether you're here for Erasmus, a semester abroad, or starting fresh - you're going to love it.

The first few weeks can be weird though. You don't know anyone, your flatmates are busy, and wandering around solo gets old. We've all been there.

Good news: Barcelona has one of the most active international communities in Europe. You just need to know where to find it.

What We Do

We run events every day of the week - language exchanges, parties, day trips. Not awkward networking stuff, just fun things where you meet people naturally.

Weekly events:

  • Monday & Wednesday - Language Exchange at Pecera Pool (free tapas on Wednesday!)
  • Tuesday - Salsa & Bachata at El Sabor Cubano in Gràcia
  • Thursday - DJ Session & Karaoke at Ogham
  • Friday - Big Party at Twist + free club entry after
  • Saturday - Mega Party at Ogham
  • Sunday - Live Music & Chill vibes at Ogham

All events are free entry - you just pay for drinks.

Upcoming Events

Here's what's coming up:

This weekend:

Day trips:

  • Montserrat Hiking Trip - Saturday Feb 7, 8:30 AM from Plaça Espanya. Stunning mountain monastery, easy hike, great views. Perfect first trip outside Barcelona.
  • Sitges Carnaval Trip - Saturday Feb 15. One of Europe's biggest carnival celebrations, just 40 min from Barcelona. Costumes, parades, beach town vibes.

Check our events page for the full calendar.

Why This Works

Show up to a few events, and you start recognizing faces. Show up to a few more, and you've got a crew. That's it.

The people are international - Erasmus students, expats, locals. Nobody judges you for coming alone because that's what everyone does at first.

Quick Tips

  • Transport: Get T-jove if you're under 30 (€44 for 3 months unlimited)
  • Nightlife: Clubs start at 1-2 AM. Pre-drinks at our events first.
  • Money: Mercadona for groceries, menu del día for cheap lunches (€10-15)
